Exploring Granada, Nicaragua

The city of Granada on the shores of Lake Nicaragua is one of the places worth visiting while staying at Jicaro Island Ecolodge. From our Ecolodge, you can take a boat ride that takes only 15 minutes to the mainland and then a cab will drive you to the city (about 15 minutes also) where you can explore and learn more about our culture and history of Nicaragua.

Granada is best known as the oldest city on the mainland in America, founded by the Spanish conquistadors in 1524. The atmosphere in this city is very quiet and cozy. You can visit the main sites of the city either on foot or in a horse-drawn carriage.

Located on a private island on Lake Nicaragua near Granada, Jicaro Lodge is a boutique hotel offering a variety of tours and activities.
